Cécile Michel (1976), member of the belgium photographer`s collective BlowUp, lives and workes in Bruxelles

Milwaukee-Wisconsin 2005
One week in milwaukee-Wisconsin to my Jamaican's friend Ryan who moved to América since 3 years for a "better" live.

Cut-Up 2006 (origin)
The other serial " Cut-Up" has not to do with a narrative construction but better with this fictional perception of our daily live.

My photographic work has to do with my experience of living. It reveals the surrounding where I'm traveling, exploring, get in touch with others... I like to mix up all to construct several " landscape " or to animate " pictures' theater ". It's a documentary approaching which express a permanent relation with the world and at the same time a particular experience.

blowup-Screening (2006)
Reflecting a collaboration between the BlowUp photographers 's group and artist Vincent Matyn, this slideshow use photographs and audio accounts by civils servant. Theses photographs and recordings were produced as part of two separate installations presented during the 2004 Plein Open Air Festival, wich is organised by the non-profit organisations Nova and City Mine(d). The collaboration between the BlowUp collective and Vincent Matyn started in the summer of 2004, on a shared interest concerning the Administrative city and its dismantling. Producing images and collecting sounds, meeting the the state employee, users, gardens, corridors, lifts, perspectives, colors... The distinctive feature of this slide show is that the editing of sound and images were separately and independently realized. Both approach were superposed afterwards and left as they were. What is to be seen or experienced is the accident between these two elements.
