„DREI is the third in a trilogy of books (the first being EINER and the second ZWEI) which Fred Hüning has been working on since 2005. It completes an incredibly tender story of the profound cycles of live in a small family. In EINER the loss of a baby is heartbreaking and the oblique shots of the mother and the dead animals that are though the book are a painful attempt to cope with grief and loss. ZWEI concentrates just on Fred’s partner, the mother, as she comes to terms with her grief and her position as a mother even though she has no child. DREI is the final piece in photographer Fred Hüning´s trilogy with his personal work.

A man and a woman have a child. In ›three‹ we see how this third in the league is very small, becomes slightly larger and begins to discover the world of its own. Fred Hüning pictures show how the son grows up, but even more they show the mystery and wonder of childhood – and what it does to the small ones and the grown up. Christian Reister’s series and book “ALEX” will be presented in the renowed Anzenberger Gallery in Vieanna, AT, along with the works of ten photographers whose common thread is working in public space.
The exhibition is a variant of the group show “Fascination Street” which was shown with great success at Kunsthaus Meinblau in Berlin in the autumn of 2011. The show will be running from March 31st to April 13th, 2012. Detail information here.
The neunplus-photographers Mirjam Siefert, Klaus Muenzner and Fred Hüning, donated one photograph each for the auction at Berlinische Galerie.
